Christian Youth In Action

How are you spending your summer? As relaxing as it may be to chill at the pool or hang out with friends, what if you chose instead to make an eternal impact in the lives of kids right where you live? High school and college students from around your state are coming together to reach the boys and girls of your community – and YOU can be a part of this team!
Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) is a missions program for anyone from the age of 13 years and older. It is designed to equip, train, and bring students together who have a desire to reach children with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  We will participate in a purposeful training camp where we will be provided with the tools needed to lead 5-Day Clubs in central Wyoming this summer. We will learn how to teach Bible lessons, memory verses, and mission stories; lead fun songs; play exciting games; and share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with boys and girls!

CYIA teens also help as summer camp counselors at Camp Good News.  This is a summer camp for kids ages 7-12.  Kids will stay overnight at a camp on Casper Mountain for a week while playing camp games, staying in cabins, worshiping God, and learning about Jesus!

Throughout this summer, we will gain life skills in responsibility, teamwork, and communication. We will build confidence, and your personal relationship with Christ will be stretched and matured. Plus, we will build lifelong, God-centered friendships with people all over Wyoming!  You can make a difference as a CYIA missionary!

How Often Do We Meet?
CYIA teens in central Wyoming will have the opportunity to serve throughout most of the summer.  We head off to a week-long training the week after school ends, and we help with 5-Day Clubs, camps, VBS's, and other ministries throughout most of the summer for a few hours a day, usually serving Monday through Friday.  We continue with these events until about mid-August.  Don't worry if you can't or don't want to come every week; we all get some vacation time.  However, there is mandatory attendance to training week (June 10 - June 19) and Camp Good News (August 7 - August 12).  We also meet together for different fun events a few times during the winter!

"Before I joined CYIA, I had a few friends of mine that kept bugging me over and over to join the program.  I kept making up excuses to them and to myself why I didn't want to do it.  I didn't want to give up any of my summer camping time, I didn't really like working with kids, and I didn't want to have to be social.  I eventually caved in and joined CYIA at the start of 2019.  After the first week of training, I decided that I liked CYIA so much that even fun things like camping in the summer had actually become fairly boring compared to CYIA."

How Much Does It Cost?
To participate in CYIA for one summer, there is a $335 fee for training week to cover food, transportation, five new T-shirts, and rooms to stay in.  However, our CYIA team has many fundraiser opportunities so that you can easily pay this entire fee quickly.  If you do not wish to participate in fundraisers, you can pay it out of pocket or ask providers to pay for it using the support letters and support cards below.  Any extra money paid to CEF will be used for food, activities, and other expenses during the summer.
